Day 11, 16 January 2016
Granite cliffs and frozen waterfalls
No snow and full sun as we continue up beautiful Setesdal. Either side of the valley are near vertical granite cliffs, an absolute Mecca for climbers with many bolted routes. The frozen waterfalls towering up hundreds of feet are equally impressive. We set off at 0730 in the dark was magical as we watched the sun rise and illuminate the valley, and called it a day after 25 kms as we are planning a long 44km tomorrow. So far the fantastic Alfa boots are holding up well (with touch wood) no blisters, despite a few tender spots. Just seen the updates of the U.K. Spine Race (Britain's most brutal race). Our friend Scott (who put together this website), organises it and with the snow this year it seems pretty tough. An enormous well done to all finishers; a great effort!
